ACE - Afterschool Centers on Education
Does your child need a place to go after school?
Is your child struggling with their homework?
Then ACE is the place to be!!
ACE is a FREE after-school program for economically disadvantaged and at-risk
students on twelve BISD campuses. Students participating in ACE will receive:
* Help with homework (tutoring if necessary)
* Enrichment activities such as art, music, theatre, film-making, photography, science,
cooking, and much more
* The opportunity to participate in Service Learning Projects
Campuses included in the program are:
• Bastrop High School
• Cedar Creek High School
• Genesis High School
• Bastrop Middle School
• Bastrop Intermediate School
• Cedar Creek Middle School
• Cedar Creek Intermediate School
• Bluebonnet Elementary
• Cedar Creek Elementary
• Lost Pines Elementary
• Red Rock Elementary
• Mina Elementary (Emile Elementary is bused to Mina.)
ENROLLMENT CRITERIA
Students that are enrolled in our program have to meet at least one of these criteria:
Academics (C or less in any core day classes)
Failed 1 or more TAKS tests
Performed below average on TAKS
Attendance (Chronic Absences)
Behavior (repetitive, non-violent, referrals)
Principal and Counselor referral
LEP/ESL; language challenged
Income (CCMS Childcare Guidelines or on F/R Lunch)
Unemployed
Unskilled (linked w/workforce solutions; minimum wage)
Lost job in the past 6 months (possibility; debt to credit ratio)
***Transportation provided upon verified need***
ACE is offered Monday through Friday immediately after school at no charge to
families. Transportation is not provided for the Mina ACE program.
The ACE office is located at 906 Farm St. (next to the BISD Service Center.)
