Meet the Principals
Richard Batlle, Principal
Richard Batlle serves the students
of Bastrop ISD as the Principal at Bluebonnet Elementary. Mr. Batlle joined the
district in 1999 as Assistant Principal. Mr. Batlle began his career in 1993 as
a 4th grade Teacher in Garland ISD. He has also worked in Austin ISD as a 2nd,
4th and 5th grade Teacher.
He is a member of Texas Elementary
Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA) and Association of School
Curriculum Development (ASCD).
Mr. Batlle earned a Bachelor's of
Science in Anthropology and Political Science degree in 1993 from Macalester
College in St. Paul, MN, and Master's of Science in Educational Administration
degree in 2001 from Texas State University.
He holds the following Texas
teaching certifications:

01- 08) - ESL/Bilingual (Grades 01-
08)
Mr. Batlle resides in Bastrop with
his wife, Keila Batlle, and has a son and daughter.
Sherrell Moore, Assistant Principal
Mr. Moore serves as assistant principal at Bluebonnet Elementary. He joined the district in 2000 and previously served the district as counselor for Cedar Creek Middle School and Bastrop High School.
He is a member of the Association of School Curriculum Development (ASCD), and recently completed the 2009-2010 Texas Principals Excellence Program (TXPEP 2009)
Mr. Moore received BS and M.Ed. degrees from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX.
He holds the following certifications: - Secondary Mathematics - Integrated Physics and Chemistry - School Counseling K-12 - Vocational CounselingHe resides in Smithville with his wife, Delores Moore. He and Delores are the parents of three young men and three young women and currently have three granddaughters and one grandson. Mr. Moore is an ordained minister and he and Delores are the founders and co-pastors of the Smithville Church of God.
