Bastrop ISD hires new Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction
Jane Pollard is the newly hired Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction for Bastrop ISD.Jane Pollard has served the students of Little Elm ISD as the Director of Secondary and Instruction and Staff Development Coordinator for Little Elm ISD. Pollard joined the district in the fall of 2002 when she opened Chavez Elementary.
Pollard began her career in the fall of 1985 as the business teacher and yearbook sponsor for Aubrey High School. She taught there for ten years. Then for her last six years at Aubrey ISD, she served at the principal for Aubrey Elementary as well as the Staff Development Coordinator for new teachers.
She is a member of The Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP), Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) as well as The Texas Staff Development Council.
Mrs. Pollard received her Bachelor’s of Science degree from Texas Woman’s University in December of 1984 and her Master’s of Education degree in December 1995 from Texas Woman’s University. She has resided in Aubrey with her husband, Fred Pollard since 1990. They have three boys; Christopher, Cory and Sean, three daughter-in-laws; Melissa, Cristina and Allison and five grandchildren; Haley, Anissa, Aubre, Ryan and Addyson.
Her philosophy of education is to do whatever it takes in order for the child to learn. The child should be mentored and supported by the classroom teacher in the learning process without ever having his/her dignity compromised while learning to take ownership of his/her choices.
