Superintendent Search
The Bastrop ISD Board of Trustees is currently searching for a superintendent to replace Roderick Emanuel, who is currently serving as Interim Superintendent. Mr. Emanuel was the BISD Superintendent for six years, before recently deciding to step down and take a different position within the district. Emanuel led Bastrop ISD to high levels of performance, and the board is searching for a leader who will continue to inspire and support the educators, students and community members who make this district the great place that it is.
The trustees have hired the firm of School Executive Consulting, Inc. to facilitate their efforts. The firm is led by longtime Texas educator Dr. Mike Moses and attorney David Thompson, who specializes in school law.

The deadline for submitting applications is Nov. 2. The following timeline outlines the process:
- Sept. 8 - posting of the job position in state and national educational publications
- Oct. 6 - Focus Group meetings for community input - click here to view comments

- Nov. 10-14 - First round of interviews
- Nov. 30 - Naming of lone finalist(s)
- Feb. 1 - New Superintendent begins position
