Bastrop Independent School District - Public Notice

Bastrop ISD receives some federal funds to assist in the operation of special programs in our schools. These funds include Title I, Title II, Title III, and Title IV funds of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), No Child Left Behind.

Under state and federal guidelines, the district is required to attempt to provide services to all eligible educationally disadvantaged children who reside in the school district, regardless of whether they attend public or private nonprofit schools, including registered private nonprofit home schools. Private nonprofit schools are not obligated to accept these services. BISD’s responsibility to provide services to eligible students ends if the services and their requirements are refused by the private school. Intent to participate in any or all of the federal programs would require specific assurances from your school. A short note indicating your intent should be mailed to Tessie Young, Bastrop ISD, 906 Farm Street, Bastrop, TX 78602, before June 25, 2008.
