Ty McDonald, Trustee

Ty McDonald is a graduate of Texas A&M University. She holds a degree in English and Public Relations. She also holds ministry credentials through the Church of God, Anderson, Indiana, and a Texas Teaching Certification. She has worked as a Legislative Director for State Representative Yvonne Davis, and as a campaign staff assistant for former State Comptroller, John Sharp. She served the Bastrop Independent School District as a freshman English teacher at Bastrop High School. After five years of service, she continued in the teaching field as a soft skills trainer with the Lower Colorado River Authority where she was certified as a trainer and life coach. She presented seminars on a wide range of topics such as leadership, conflict management, diversity and professional effectiveness. 


Ty believes in continuing education and has completed hours for Master of Divinity through the Institute of Christian Studies.


Ty is a native of College Station, Texas and is the wife of Bastrop County Judge Ronnie McDonald.  The couple has two daughters, Micaela and Alexa and a son, Micah.  


Ty is the founder of New Life Fellowship Ministries where she and her husband serve as pastors.

Ty is also owner of Ruach Communications, a consulting agency providing personal and professional effectiveness training for individuals, non profits and corporations.
