Sophia Williams, Secretary
Sophia Williams received a Bachelor of Science Degree form Huston Tillotson University, Austin, Texas and a Master of Education Degree in Special Education from Prairie View A&M University. She also holds a Life-Time Texas Teacher’s Certificate in Elementary Education and Special Education. Mrs. Williams was a teacher for 39 years, most of which was spent teaching at Bastrop ISD. She retired in May 2000. Her husband, Elroy, is also a retired teacher.
Sophia Williams is very active in her church, Hopewell Primitive Baptist Church, where she serves as the church clerk, sings in the choir and is the secretary for the Senior Mission. Presently, she is a current member of the Lions Club and serves on the Bastrop County Historical Society Board of Trustees.
Mrs. Williams is the mother of two daughters and a grandmother.
