The STARS program is offered at Mina Elementary, Lost Pines Elementary, Emile Elementary, Bluebonnet Elementary, Red Rock Elementary and Cedar Creek Elementary schools beginning the first day of school. We will also offer all-day programs at Cedar Creek Elementary and Mina Elementary during winter, spring, and summer breaks along with the Teacher In-Service days that occur during the year from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Notices and sign-up sheets will be posted for these and other special events. All sites will be closed on the following holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If weather conditions warrant the closure of the public school system, the sites will also be closed. We do not wish to endanger our staff or our students.
The program is licensed by the Department of Family & Protective Services and is staffed with Bastrop ISD employees.
The STARS program provides students the opportunity to participate in activities such as recreational time, organized sports, computer lab time, homework help, and other seasonal and cultural events. This allows parents the comfort of knowing their child or children are in a safe, monitored and intellectually stimulating environment.
During the afternoon nutritious snacks and drinks are provided through the National School Lunch and Breakfast Snack Program.
Registration applications may be printed from this website or picked up from any Bastrop ISD elementary school office or Bastrop ISD Service Center. For more information on the STARS program, contact Bastrop ISD, Community Services at 308-1601.
