Bastrop ISD will continue to offer Lunch Money Now, an online payment system for parents to put credit towards their child(rens) breakfast and lunch account. The system is fast and easy to use and will help cut down on the number of students with lost lunch money since it goes directly into their accounts.
To help improve communication between parents and cafeteria staff, a new feature has recently been added. A low balance email notification can now be sent to a parent’s email address once a student’s balance falls below a specified amount.
The new button, Setup Email Notices has been added to the page where a student's balance is displayed. When clicked, a window will open allowing the parent to enter an email address where a notice is to be received when the student's balance falls below an amount they specify, for example, $2, $5, $10. Clicking the Subscribe/Save button activates the low balance notification feature and sends the parent a confirmation email. Once enrolled, parents may return to the same screen to unsubscribe or modify the notification settings.
It will now be possible to pay with an American Express, Discover Card or a PayPal account (in addition to MasterCard and Visa debit/credit cards). Parents may store payment settings in a secure PayPal account if they desire, but a PayPal account is not necessary for them to continue to pay with a debit/credit card.
All other aspects of Lunch Money Now will remain the same, only the 'Check Out' process which the parent sees will change.
Each student’s settings can be configured differently. To avoid daily emails, only one notification will be sent until a deposit is made to the student's account to raise the balance above the specified level. Parents should be sure to allow receipt of email from orders@lunchmoneynow.com in their address book or SPAM blocker.
