How to Become a Substitute

We recruit individuals who:

     *Enjoy working with children with different backgrounds and abilities
     *Believe in our District's Mission - "To ensure the academic success of all 
      students by fostering a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning."
     *Want to make a positive difference in a child's life


Requirements for being a Substitute:

     *Certified teacher (require copy of teaching certificate)

              OR

     *Completed some college hours in an accredited university (provide copy 
      of transcript)

              OR

     *HS Graduate (provide copy of diploma or certificate)

              AND


     *Complete the application online
     *Criminal background check
     *Attend a 2 hour substitute orientation session
     *Complete application packet (provided at orientation)

All applications are active for one year from the date received. Substitute teachers are hired on a as needed basis depending on campus needs.
