Community Education - FAQs

1.  Who can sign up?
For children's classes: We ask that you adhere to the age requirements listed in the course description. If your child is younger than the requirements, but you feel that he/she may still benefit for the class, please call the Community Education Specialist at (512) 308-1601 to discuss this opportunity.

Bastrop ISD Community Education classes are open to the public and students do not have to live within the county or have children that attend BISD schools. Anyone can participate in this program.


2.  When can I sign up?
You may begin to sign up for the current sessions classes as soon as you receive the brochure. We encourage you to sign up early so that a class may not be cancelled due to lack of registration. If space is still available in a class, registrations are taken until the first day of the class.

3How do I register?
   By Mail. Mail in your registration form and check or money order to BISD, Community  
   Services, 906 Farm Street, Bastrop, TX 78602.

   By Fax. Fax your registration form to (512) 308-1607.

  

   By Phone. Phone in your registration information by calling (512) 308-1601.

  

   In Person. The Community Education Department is located at 906 Farm Street, 
   Bastrop.

 

  Online. Register online by going to http://bastropisd.augusoft.net/index.cfm? and completing the   

  registration process.


4.  When is your registration office open?
The Community Education office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

How do I get to your office?
Our office is located at 906 Farm Street, Bastrop.


6.  What if the class I sign up for is full?

If the class that you are signing up for is full, you can ask to be put on a waiting list or register for the next session.


7.  What is the refund policy?
The Community Education program is funded through grants and registration fees, therefore the following refund procedures must be followed:
     º For classes cancelled for lack of enrollment, 100% of the registration fee will be 
       refunded. 
     º Withdrawal 1 week before class beings, 75% of the registration fee will be refunded.
     º No refunds will be issued after a class has begun or after a sports league deadline.


8.  Where do classes meet?

Classes meet at various campuses throughout Bastrop ISD.

Are classes handicapped accessible?

Classes meet at BISD campuses, therefore, all campuses are handicapped accessible. Please call the Community Education office at (512) 308-1601 if you have concerns.


10. What happens in case of inclement weather?

If Bastrop ISD cancels regular school classes because of bad weather or other reasons, Community Education classes will also be cancelled.


11.  Can I purchase Gift Certificates?
Yes. Purchase a gift certificate for a specific class or a specific dollar amount, it's your choice.

Are adult students allowed to smoke on Bastrop ISD campuses? 

 Bastrop ISD is a smoke-free zone. Use of tobacco and smoking are prohibited on all BISD property including outside and inside of buildings.
