BISD Voyager Program

The Bastrop ISD has been awarded a grant to fund six 21st Century Community Learning Centers during the 2007-08 school year. The six sites are Mina Elementary, Emile Elementary, Cedar Creek Elementary, Red Rock Elementary, Cedar Creek Intermediate School and Cedar Creek Middle School.

Children participating in this program will receive after school remediation and enrichment courses. Programs will also be offered for families who are participating in our voyager program. Program activities will include: computer program instruction such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Internet, Digital Photography, Ballet, Sign Language, Free Play Basketball, ESL, GED, Investments and more.

What does it all mean?

These programs will be offered free or at a reduced rate to the Bastrop ISD Community as part of the National Community in Schools Initiative and will be advertised via school flyers and the Community Education Catalogue each semester.

With community support and attendance we will be able to continue to offer these type of learning opportunities to the Bastrop Community. For more information about participating in any of these programs or becoming an instructor, contact Gracie Rothhauser at (512) 308-1601.
